How to practise A-Level Maths exam questions by topic
Use these free A-Level Maths exam questions to revise one skill at a time. The interactive engine brings together original AQA, Edexcel and OCR AS and A-Level questions, including specimen material, for students across the UK. Choose Year 1 or Year 2, then narrow your practice by topic, subtopic, exam board and difficulty.
Start with a topic you have recently studied or an area that needs more practice. Pure Maths, Statistics and Mechanics are included. Each question shows its board, year, paper and question number, so you can identify the original source. Work through the complete question in order: later parts may depend on earlier results.
Check your working and learn from the mark scheme
Write out your method before checking an answer. Some responses can be marked automatically; others need self-marking using the available answers and official mark schemes. A correct final value is only part of exam preparation. Compare the steps in your solution, check the required accuracy and look for the reasoning that earns method marks.
After reviewing a solution, try another question on the same subtopic. Keep notes on recurring mistakes and return to difficult questions after a break. For A-Level Maths exam questions involving a diagram, use the original figure shown with the question. If you find an error, select “Report a mistake” so the question details accompany your report.
Combine official exam practice with Madas worksheets
For printable practice and longer sets, use our established A-Level Maths Questions by Topic collection, including Madas worksheets with solutions. These resources complement the engine: worksheets help develop fluency, while original exam questions help you apply those skills in examination contexts.
Once you feel confident with individual topics, practise complete papers under timed conditions. Check your own board’s specification when planning revision; for example, see the AQA A-Level Mathematics specification. This question engine is in beta, and reports help improve the bank for everyone.
