How to Use A-Level Physics Questions by Topic

Choose one topic at a time and attempt the questions before looking at the solutions. Mark your work carefully, identify the physics ideas or method marks you missed, then retry similar questions until the method becomes secure.

  1. Choose a weak topic. Start with the area where you are losing the most marks.
  2. Attempt the questions independently. Avoid checking the solution too early.
  3. Review your mistakes. Focus on both the physics and the structure of your working.
  4. Repeat before moving on. Return to the topic until you can solve similar questions confidently.

A-Level Physics Topics Covered

These questions cover mechanics and materials, particles and radiation, electricity, waves, thermal physics, fields and capacitors, nuclear physics, practical skills and the AQA Paper 3 options. The core topics are also useful for students studying Edexcel or OCR A-Level Physics.

Which exam board are these questions for?

The collection is organised around AQA A-Level Physics. Many of the core topics are also useful for Edexcel and OCR students.

Should I use questions by topic or full past papers?

Use questions by topic while strengthening individual areas. Move to complete past papers when you are ready to practise timing, paper structure and switching between topics.

Are solutions included?

Yes. The topic resources are designed to be used with accompanying worked material so you can check both the final answer and the method.
